This commitment gave birth to the Women in Tech Scholarship (WITS) Program, an initiative designed to inspire, educate, and transform the careers of aspiring women in technology.

The Vision of the WITS Program

The WITS Program aims to bridge the gender gap in tech by equipping women with essential tech skills, providing mentorship, and creating opportunities for growth. Our mission is clear: to empower women to unlock their potential, explore the world of technology, and drive meaningful change in their communities.

We launched the program with a vision of creating a vibrant community where women can learn, grow, and succeed in the tech industry. The journey so far has been incredible, and we are excited to share the progress we’ve made.

Phase I: Laying the Foundation

The program kicked off with an open call for applications, and we were thrilled to receive an overwhelming response from talented women eager to take their first steps in tech. Phase I focused on building a strong foundation for our participants by introducing them to the fundamentals of technology, covering areas like digital literacy, programming basics, and soft skills necessary for the tech industry.

Through workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on projects, our participants have already begun to transform their curiosity into competence, and their passion into potential.

Moving into Phase II: The Entrance Test

We are now entering the Entrance Test phase (Phase II), a crucial stage that will assess the readiness of our participants for the intensive training ahead. The test will focus on quantitative and verbal reasoning skills, ensuring that our participants are equipped with the analytical capabilities required to excel in the tech industry.

Entrance Test Details:

• Dates: November 18th & 19th, 2024
• Time: Open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM WAT on both days

Participants are encouraged to prepare thoroughly, as a score of 70% or above is required to progress to the next level of training. This marks a significant step in their journey to becoming tech-savvy professionals.

What’s Next? The Core Training Awaits

Once the entrance test is completed, successful candidates will move forward to our core training program, which is designed to dive deeper into tech specializations such as:

• Cyber Security: Learn to protect digital assets and secure networks.
• Data Analysis: Master the art of turning data into actionable insights.
• Software Development: Build your coding skills and create applications.
• Product Management: Understand the lifecycle of bringing tech products to market.

This phase is set to provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and real-world projects that will enable our participants to gain a competitive edge in the tech industry.
